Farm animal festivities aim to boost sanctuary funds

Solihull Editorial 22nd Nov, 2021   0

FESTIVITIES are afoot at a Warwickshire shelter for rescued farm animals.

Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary (FARS) in Wolverton is home to some 450 farm animals from pigs and sheep to rabbits and ducks.

And from 10am to 4pm on Sunday November 28, residents can meet the animals, shop Christmas stalls and enjoy vegan-friendly refreshments.

Money raised will pay towards feeding the animals over winter.

The donations – which will go towards winter animal feed – will be a welcome boost for the sanctuary – set up over 30 years ago by 76-year-old owner Carole Webb.

The sanctuary has faced much hardship over the last two years with food shortages, broken equipment and Covid cases adding to the financial toll of the pandemic.

Tickets for a two-hour time slot must be booked in advance and cost £5 for anyone 12 and over.
