FOOTBALL - Robins seek to extend winning run against Borough

KNOWLE entertain lowly Redditch Borough this weekend as the Robins seek to keep the pressure on league leaders Sutton United.

The Robins cruised to a 5-1 win at Coventry Alvis last weekend to secure their eighth successive victory in all competitions.

And Knowle will be out to right the wrongs of the opening day clash between the two teams which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Only a win will do for Knowle this time around, with the Robins 10 points behind leaders Sutton with three games in hand.

Their opponents Redditch are down in 13th place in the Midland Football League Division Two table having won just four of their 21 matches this season.

And Borough have won just one league game on the road this season after they beat Boldmere Sports and Social Falcons 2-0 at the start of the year.

Knowle’s joint manager Matthew Seeley said: “It will be tough. I expect they will park the bus and make it as difficult for us as they possibly can.”

The Robins are expected to be at full strength for the fixture with the clubhouse open for hot and cold drinks and lights snacks all afternoon.

Entrance is £4 for adults and £2 for concessions.

Knowle host Redditch on Saturday, February 25 with kick-off at 3pm at the Draintech Community Ground.
