STUDENTS in KS3 classes at Lyndon School having been putting their brains to the test by taking part in the BEBRAS Computing Challenge.
The challenge introduces computational thinking to students and is organised in more than 50 countries with the aim of getting youngsters excited about computing.
Lyndon School in Daylesford Road had six students who reached the top 10 per cent of 300,000 national participants with large swathes of those taking part from the school going above the national average.
Each participant had to answer questions that focused on computational and logical thinking with the challenges promoted by Oxford University.
The six students who mad the top 10 per cent will now go on to participate in the online Oxford University Computing Challenge which takes place in the week beginning February 7, 2022.
School Principal Abid Butt, said: “I am so proud of all the students that took part in the BEBRAS Computing Challenge, they did amazingly well and it’s fantastic that some will be going through to the Oxford University Computing Challenge next year.
“Here at Lyndon School, we are committed to offering students a first-class educational experience which includes activities that challenge them and stretch their ambition.
“We want to make sure that students leave us equipped to successfully tackle the challenges of the 21st Century.”
