Sessions on how to improve energy efficiency at home

Solihull Editorial 1st Jun, 2023   0

HELP IS at hand for homeowners across Solihull at free home energy advice sessions.

Throughout June Solihull Council and its partners Act on Energy will be hosting drop-in events to help residents understand how to improve the energy efficiency of their home and learn about any free or subsidised measures they may be eligible for.

This could include external wall insulation, loft and cavity insulation, solar panels, heat pumps and double glazing.

There will also be information on for those eligible for the Home Upgrade Grant Scheme, which is funded by the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), to help the least energy efficient off-gas grid homes in England.

Councillor Andy Mackiewicz, cabinet member for Climate Change, Planning and Housing, said: “Over the past few years, the issue of rising energy prices and how to save money has come up frequently both in the news and in our day-to-day conversations.

“Given the situation I know many residents in Solihull are keen to find out what they can do to improve the energy efficiency of their home.

“We know the nation’s housing stock needs significant modifications to ensure homes are well insulated and effective at keeping heat out in the summer and staying warm in the winter.”
