TREASURY Minister Priti Patel visited the borough to meet a timber engineering company with a success story to tell.
WB Timber Innovations, on Monkspath Business Park, specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of insulated timber frames for new homes.
The company has seen substantial growth in the last three years, thanks to the ongoing recovery of the construction industry.
In December it moved its design office to a new larger premises and the firm is now in the process of opening a new factory, which will provide over 15 new jobs for local people.
On her visit, the Conservative Minister got a preview of the new production line, which is due to be fully operational by March 2015.
She said: “Timber Innovations is a strong example of a company driving the local economy in the Midlands and helping to create jobs, investment, prosperity and bright futures.
“Under this government, the Midlands has been growing faster than the average for the whole of the UK.”
