Schoolboy left with 'serious facial injuries' following collision in Acocks Green

A SCHOOLBOY has suffered serious facial injuries after colliding with a vehicle wing mirror in Acocks Green.

The incident occurred on Olton Boulevard East, Acocks Green at around 4pm yesterday (Thursday, September 10) where it is believed a 12-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle wing mirror whilst crossing the road leaving him with serious facial injuries including a suspected fractured jaw.

An ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “The twelve year old received emergency treatment at the scene by medics, including pain relief.




“Once the boys condition was stabilised he was transferred by land ambulance to Birmingham Childrens Hospital for further emergency treatment.

“The air ambulance medics travelled with the patient continuing treatment on route.


“The hospital had been pre alerted to the boys arrival and serious injuries.”
