THE DRIVER of this car was lucky to escape serious injury following a crash this morning (Tuesday).

The incident happened on the A3400, Wootton Wawen, Henley in Arden at around 8.40am.

Ambulance crews arrived to find a car that left the road and rolled over.

It had also demolished a lamppost and come to rest on its roof on a grass verge near a hedgerow.

The woman driving the car was trapped in the vehicle as the door was damaged and unable to be opened.

The woman, believed to be in her 50’s, received treatment and reassurance at the scene as the fire service opened the door so she could get out of the vehicle.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Following a full assessment by medics the woman was discharged and did not need to go to hospital.

“Considering the circumstances of the crash it is extremely fortunate that the woman did not suffer serious injuries.”
