LIAM Delves is on the road to recovery following a crash at Donington Park last weekend and is hopeful of racing in the Bennett’s British Superbike Championship finale at Brands Hatch this weekend.

The Solihull rider has been receiving treatment on his injuries and will travel down to Brands Hatch to prepare for the final three races of this season’s Championship.

Delves is set to take part in free practice on Friday and if all goes well will continue to qualifying and the final three races.

Delves said: “The team have worked hard to get the Rapid Training Rapid CDH Racing Kawasaki Superbike Fuelled by Cheshire Mouldings and Woodturnings Ltd prepared for the weekend and I do feel a lot better and will make a final decision after free practice whether to race or not.

“But whatever the outcome I will be at the track to support my team throughout the weekend.”

Following his crash last weekend, Delves was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham where scans showed that he had internal bruising and bruising to the C6 and C7 in his neck but no further damage.

Free practice starts at 12.30pm and 3.35pm on Friday and 10am on Saturday with qualifying later that same day at 12.15pm.

The 16-lap sprint race starts at 4.05pm on Saturday with race two at 1pm on Sunday and the final race at 4.05pm.
