A SOLIHULL youngster received the surprise of her life when Lionesses star Karen Carney presented her with a number of signed gifts prior to heading to France for the Women’s World Cup.
Martha Poole, who attends St. Augustine’s Primary School, received a visit from fellow Silhillian Carney, who came prepared with a signed England shirt, football boots and a picture with a signed dedication to Martha.
Martha, who plays for Knowle Robins and was voted the Players’ Player and won the golden boot last season, thanked Carney for giving up her time and said she will be glued to the television during the World Cup in the hope her idol can bring home glory for England this summer.
