SOLIHULL rider Liam Delves posted a finishing position of tenth place, during the third round of the Pirelli National Supersport 600 Championship at Donington Park.
Delves qualified in third for his team VMR Racing, starting him in the front row for Sunday morning’s race.
He initially got off to a bad start and fell further back behind a pack of drivers, but endeavored to rise through the rankings in the final six laps of the race.
Sitting in seventh, he sustained an arm injury, dropping him to 11th position, but recovered in the penultimate lap to overtake Adam Hartgrove and finish in the top ten – earning six championship points in the process.
Delves was left delighted after gaining his first points of the season.
“I’ve had a fantastic weekend with a really strong pace.
“Qualifying on the front row was a great feeling though unfortunately during my race I suffered massively with arm pump and was unable to hold onto the bike – resulting in me dropping back to 10th.
“I would like to say a big thank you to all my team for their hard work this weekend and once again all my loyal sponsors and supporters that came to show their support this weekend.
Delves is next in action at Brands Hatch for round four of the series, taking place on June 14 to 16.
