PEOPLE across Solihull are being encouraged to swing into action and enjoy free weekly golf coaching.

The Pitch and Putt golf course located at Tudor Grange Park in Monkspath Hall Road is offering free weekly lessons throughout the summer.

The Summer of Golf Scheme, launched by England Golf and supported by CSW Sport, Warwickshire Golf and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, aims to make the game more accessible by inviting people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to take part in free tuition.

The hour-long sessions, taking place every Wednesday at 1.30pm, 4.30pm and 6pm, will be delivered by PGA golf professional Jason Powell, who will be on hand to provide tips on how to develop technique.

Julia Burton, of Warwickshire Golf, said: “All players need to do is turn up in comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear and all other equipment will be provided.

“We hope that the project will help to drive membership and participation figures across Solihull by breaking down existing barriers and give people a taster of how fun and rewarding golf can be.

“Participants will also receive information about our loyalty scheme with those who play often benefiting from individual lessons as well as opportunities to access facilities at local clubs.”

People attending Summer of Golf sessions will also receive information about beginner Get into Golf courses which are available across Warwickshire from just £25 for five weeks. To find a course near you go to
