BIRMINGHAM and Solihull Hornets claimed a 45-24 victory against Moseley Oak 2nds in their first outing of the season.
Tries from Liam Dunne, Cam May, Mikey Essex, Aron Bowker-Sayce, Harry Garratt and two apiece from Storm Atkins and Jacob Carr sealed a convincing victory.
Atkins also kicked three conversions while Bowker-Sayce struck twice from the kicking tee.
Moseley’s side featured a number of players who had featured for the first team.
And all 23 Hornets players made their way onto the pitch at some point as Yusuf Ali returned from a neck injury while Diaba Dee also made his comeback following a spell on the sidelines.
Hornets skipper Andy Warrilow played with his son Ryan while Pete Carr also played with his son Jacob.
Captain Warrilow said: “It was great to see these lads get a game and we have a second game this Saturday so this game will help with selection.
“It was also fantastic to see so many of the first team boys come and support the lads, as they had no game this week due to cup fixtures.”
Both the Birmingham and Solihull Bees and the Hornets entertain Southam on Saturday, October 4 with kick-off at 3pm at Portway.
