BIRMINGHAM and Solihull Bees slipped to back-to-back home defeats after losing 52-31 against Bournville II.
An early Bournville blitz stunned the Bees as Ali Cook crossed for a hat-trick while Liam Dunne and Will Heath also dotted down for the home at Portway.
The result means Solihull sit fourth in the Counties 2 Midlands West (East) table, nine points behind leaders Barkers Butts.
Bournville ran in six tries to score 33 unanswered points inside half-an-hour to take a commanding lead.
However, Cook dotted down his first try and James Widdop converted to reduce the deficit to 26 points at the interval.
Another Bournville try at the start of the second half took the game out of Solihull’s reach.
The home side responded when assistant coach Dunne touched down.
And Cook then scored a try of the year contender as he collected the ball from kick-off in his own 22 and ran 80-metres with the ball before crashing through a tackle to score.
A try from Heath secured a bonus point for the Bees after good work from Aron Bowker-Sayce before Bournville crossed for an eighth try.
Cook completed his hat-trick late on only for Bournville to run in their ninth try of the game in the final minute.
Birmingham and Solihull are next in action against Upton-on-Severn on Saturday, December 20 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Banwell Park.
