BIRMINGHAM and Solihull Bees saw their five-game winning run come to an end following a 26-15 home defeat against Claverdon.
The Bees lost at home for the first time this season despite a try from Pete Gordon and five points from the boot of James Widdop at Portway.
And the result means Solihull sit fourth in the Counties 2 Midlands West (East) table, six points behind leaders Barkers Butts.
Both teams observed a minute’s silence before kick-off in memory of former Bees player David Blick who died recently.
The Bees named a much-changed side and trailed after just three minutes when Claverdon ran in the game’s first try.
And the visitors extended their lead to 14 points on the quarter-hour mark to leave the Bees stunned.
Solihull then lost full-back Storm Atkins to injury which led to a reshuffle in the backs.
However, Claverdon lost a player to the sin-bin for persistent infringements and the Bees made the most of the extra man when Gordon touched down and Widdop converted.
And Widdop then kicked a penalty to close the gap between the teams to four points at the break while Claverdon failed to convert a simple kick from in front of the posts.
The away side scored an unconverted try at the start of the second period and dotted down a bonus point try later in the half to take the game away from the Bees.
Birmingham and Solihull are next in action against Bromsgrove II on Saturday, December 6 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Finstall Road.
