FORMER Birmingham and Solihull Bess RFC interntional player Diaba organised the first Bees beach rugby tournament in Agadir, Morroco.
Diaba, a former Ghana international, organised a tournament involving a mixed group of players ranging from ages seven to 18-years-old from Association Sousse Rugby Tikiouine in Agadir, Morocco.
Multiple games took place including a boys’, girls’ and mixed game with a cup awarded after each match.
The mixed game received the Bees Charity Beach Rugby Trophy.
The girls received the Nerdy Banana Beach Rugby Trophy and the boys received the Peter Glackin Beach Rugby Trophy.
Following the games, a presentation of medals to all players and participants took place in the Bees rugby colours of black and yellow with the club logo on the reverse.
The club also presented the donations from the Bees which included jerseys and rugby balls.
Alongside this, we were also able to give other donations of pens, printed socks, and new rugby balls donated by other key donors.
The donations were made possible with the support of club president Rona Higgins, director of senior rugby Lou Lupoli, previous kit man Michael Jinks and Keith Scott for the supply of balls, kicking tees and kit bags along with Maxwell Rodman and Stuart Garret.
The club would like to give a special thanks to Ayoub Bototo for organising logistics on the Moroccan side.
