Promising youngster Bowen signs up to Moors National League challenge

FOOTBALL: DEFENDER James Bowen has signed up to Solihull Moors’ National League campaign from Hereford United.

The 21-year-old Birmingham born player will be eligible for selection for Saturday’s away league fixture at Guiseley and has joined for the remainder of the current season.

He was given a professional contract at Cheltenham in 2014 after progressing through the youth set-up, making his first team debut at Stevenage in November of that year.

After loan spells at Evesham, Gloucester City and Hereford, he moved to Stafford Rangers last season before returning to Edgar Street for the current campaign.

At over six feet tall, Bown is mainly a left-back but can also be deployed as a winger.
