SOLIHULL Vixens secured a place in the Women’s Elite League play-offs after picking up four points over the weekend.
A depleted Vixens took on Streatham in their penultimate league game of the season last Saturday and walked away with a comfortable 4-1 victory.
Saffron Allen (2), Katie Henry and Kenndey Wallace got the goals.
Vixens then travelled to Kingston on Sunday full of determination knowing victory would secure third place and a spot in the play-offs.
Solihull got off to a slow start, falling behind after 5.09 when Hannah Worthington passed to Kirtsen Deighton who in turn found Sarah Hutchinson to give Kingston the lead.
Vixens continued to battle and after 16.10 Jess Urquhart fed Wallace who set up skipper Henry to level as it finished 1-1 after the first period.
The second period started well for Solihull as it took just 24 seconds for Paige Dance to set Henry up to take the lead.
Unfortunately at 34.38 Hull’s No.10 took a match penalty for a tackle on Henry who was unable to continue and remains a worry for the play-offs.
Despite even shorter numbers, Solihull were determined not to let the lead Henry created slip and at 36.43 scored on the power play with Paige Dance using a lovely pass from Wallace to make it 3-1.
Vixens now take on Guildford on Saturday in the semi-finals knowing victory will put them against Bracknell or Kingston who contest the other play-off tie.
