DAN Evans and Andy Murray are through to the quarter-finals of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games men’s doubles tennis competition.

Evans, from Solihull, smashed the winning point in a dramatic third set tie-break of their second round match against Belgian pair Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen.

After Evans and Murray won the first set 6-3, Belgium responded by winning the second set 7-6 by a tie-break.

That paved the way for a third-set decided as Britain saved two match points before securing a dramatic 11-9 success at Roland Garros.

Evans and Murray will now play American third seeds Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul in the quarter-finals.

Tennis great Murray is playing in his last-ever competition before retiring as he seeks a fourth Olympic medal following men’s singles triumphs at London 2012 and Rio 2016 and a silver in the mixed doubles in at the London Games.
