HOCKEY: THERE was disappointment for Olton & Warwickshire Hockey Club on Sunday as the Men’s 1st team suffered a 4-3 cup loss against Bowden.
Despite an impressive hat-trick from Dan Sulway, Olton & Warwickshire couldn’t keep the ball out of their own end and ultimately paid the price by conceding four goals – ending their cup run.
Low on availability due to the half-term holiday, the team put in a brave performance though couldn’t repeat heroics of last weekend where all of the club’s teams won their games.
Elsewhere Olton & Warwickshire’s Ladies first and second teams both had a week off from league duty due to the Futures Cup – involving many of the better Under 18s players.
It was left to the Ladies third, fourth and fifth teams while the Men’s second to sixth teams were also in action.
Despite the Ladies third team earning a win, the fourth’s and fifth’s missed out.
There was also disappointment for the Men’s teams as the seconds and thirds both lost to Birmingham University while the fourth’s, fifth’s and sixth’s all narrowly lost.
