HARRISON Morrow secured his first Formula Ford race victory at Brands Hatch after completing a dramatic late overtake.

The Solihull driver made a decisive move at Paddock Hill Bend in the Super Classic Formula Ford BRSCC Championship to take the race win.

However, Morrow endured a disr–upted qualifying session which left him starting the first race in the second row of the grid.

The teenager produced a recovery drive in the opening race as he closed rapidly on the leader only to run out of laps.

However, Morrow started race two from third place and hunted down the leader heading into the closing stages of the race.

And with two laps remaining, Morrow committed to the inside from distance at Paddock Hill Bend.

The move caught the race leader off guard as Morrow completed the overtake and controlled the final laps to take his first win in the category.

Morrow showed great pace in both races as he consistently ran at the front of the grid and made multiple overtakes against more experienced drivers.

Teammates Daniel Wear and Graham Payne also claimed class wins.

Team boss, Mark Bates said: “I knew Harrison was capable of winning in the new car, but this early was a real surprise, it was a faultless drive.”

The result marks another step forward in Morrow’s development in single-seater racing as he turns his attention to the next round at Oulton Park.
