SOLIHULL racer Harrison Morrow is in fine fettle for round eight of the Shenington Kart Racing Club Championship, after his recent showing in the Shenington IKR Sprint Series.
Morrow returned for round five of the Series buoyed by his showing in the Super Prix on the same track, but suffered a frustrating day of practice to open the weekend.
After regrouping on race day, dissatisfaction with the kart set-up remained the reoccurring issue, with Harrison qualifying in fifth despite being capable of finishing two or three places higher.
He then suffered a disappointing start to heat one, but recovered to finish fifth despite the poor drive, repeating the feat with a better drive in heat two.
Morrow demonstrated his best pace of the weekend in heat three and was involved in a race-long battle for fourth, but surrendered his position after a mistake at a hairpin bend to finish fifth once again.
With momentum beginning to build for the team ahead of the final, Harrison pushed hard and raced into fourth place, a position he did not surrender to end his afternoon on a high.
The positive end to the round keeps Morrow in second in the IKR Sprint Series standings, and will look to improve his ranking of 14th in the Shenington Kart Racing Club Championship this weekend.
