A HAT-TRICK of titles by Megan McCarron was completed after she retained her world kickboxing crown representing Ireland at the ISKA World Championships.

The Solihull resident, who previously reigned supreme in Athens in 2017 and in Montego Bay, Jamaica in 2018, remains the senior ladies kickboxing champion after beating Ukrainian fighter Valentina Toria in a repeat of last year’s final.

After seeing her come out on top at the Neptune Stadium in Cork, McCarron’s coach Paul Gilmore applauded the achievement of the 19-year-old, and said: “Megan was thrilled and delighted, especially with her 82-year-old Grandad John there to see her win, who was watching her box for the first time.
