Leafield Athletic girls are kitted out in style

Solihull Editorial 16th Jun, 2019   0

LEAFIELD Athletic have benefited from a £1,000 donation by housebuilding company Persimmon Homes towards new kit for two of the club’s girls’ sides for the forthcoming season.

The club received the money through Persimmon Homes’ monthly Community Champions scheme, in which the company donates up to £2,000 to community groups and projects every month.

Adrian Clements, who works at the club, said the donation has helped out more than most would initially think.

“We are busy fund-raising to buy new kits for our U8s and U10s girls as they currently wear old and mismatched kits, therefore the donation from Persimmon Homes is a massive boost for us.”

Sales director for Persimmon Homes, Carol Selway, said: “We strongly believe in supporting the communities where we build and are delighted to be able to support grassroot sports through our Community Champions scheme, especially when it is clear the football club provides great sporting opportunities for local girls.”
