DANNY Coveney, from Solihull, became the first fighter from Great Britain to win the WAKO Youth World Championships in 43 years.
Coveney beat fellow Brit Joshua Ainger-Boyt in the final of the -81kg category to become world champion in Budapest, Hungary.
The 18-year-old is the first-ever fighter from Great Britain to retain the world title and has won all of his 27 fights.
Coveney began training in kickboxing at the age of six and started competing at the age of 12-years-old under coach Paul Gilmore.
He claimed his first world titles in 2022 after triumphing in Venice and WKU European competitions.
He then won the WAKO European Championships the following year in Turkey as well as the WKU world title.
This year, Coveney became WAKO world champion and also claimed the ASFO world title.
Coveney has just opened his own martial arts centre for adults and children interested in taking up kickboxing in Hampton-in-Arden.
