JODIE Alderson-Smith scored twice as Solihull Vixens beat Guildford Lightning 4-0 to move three points clear at the top of the table.
Alderson-Smith struck in both the second and third periods after Katie Henry opened the scoring and Hannah Ware also found the net at Planet Ice Solihull.
The result means Solihull lead the Women’s National Ice Hockey Elite League by three points having dropped just a single point in 10 matches.
Wearing their new EDG Security home kit, Vixens made a quick start and opened the scoring inside four minutes when Henry beat Mali Easton in the Guildford net.
An onslaught on the Guildford goal followed as Vixens managed a further 14 shots in the first half only for Easton to stand firm and keep the visitors in the contest.
Solihull’s dominance continued into the second period as Alderson-Smith doubled the Vixens lead on 29 minutes before Ware added a quickfire third on 31 minutes.
And Alderson-Smith completed the scoring with her second of the game on 50 minutes, despite the best efforts of Easton.
Vixens are next in action away at Bristol Huskies on Sunday, February 12 with the face-off at 4.30pm at Planet Ice Bristol.
