ICE HOCKEY - Solihull Vixens held in thriller in penultimate game of league season

SOLIHULL Vixens were held to a 5-5 draw by Kingston Diamonds last weekend despite Katie Henry netting a hat-trick.

Player of the game Henry was in inspired form in Hull only for her team to surrender a 4-1 lead in the second period.

And Solihull led again in the third period only to be pegged back for a second time by the Diamonds with Chamonix Jackson and Sarah Hutchinson scoring Solihull’s other goals.

Despite conceding five goals, Vixens goaltender Michelle Franklin faced 50 shots in an impressive display between the posts.

Solihull now lead Queen Bees by 10 points in the Women’s Elite League table with one match left to play this season.

The Vixens travel to Guildford Lightning on Saturday, May 28 with the face off at 6.30pm at Guildford Spectrum.
