HIGHGATE United boosted their Midland League Premier Division promotion hopes with a 2-0 home victory over title hopefuls Coleshill Town on Tuesday night.
After an evenly-fought first half, the Gate dominated after the break with Aaron Brown’s close range header giving them a 49th-minute lead.
A relatively comfortable win was then sealed when midfielder George Curry netted 17 minutes from time.
Tuesday’s win followed Saturday’s 2-0 victory over relegation-threatened Loughborough University.
Jamie Molyneux opened the scoring in the fourth minute before Brown doubled the lead after 22 minutes.
Highgate face a tough Easter weekend when they make the trip to Sporting Khalsa – currently playing at AFC Wulfrunians’ CKW Stadium – on Saturday before travelling to Coventry United on Monday.
