SAM Easterbrook, who plays out of Olton Golf Club, has earned a place in England Golf’s men’s squad for the 2024 season.

Easterbrook makes the step up from the boys’ team and forms part of an eight-strong US-based squad alongside Jack Bigham, Charlie Crockett, Matthew Dodd-Berry, Josh Hill, Zach Little, Mark Stockdale and Tyler Weaver.

The Olton golfer won the HMC Strokeplay 2023 St Andrews tournament and secured top-five finishes in the Peter McEvoy Trophy, Lytham Trophy, Carris Trophy and HMC Strokeplay 2023 Hollinwell.

He also helped England win the R and A Girls’ and Boys’ Home Internationals tournament and represented his country at the European Boys’ Team Championship.

The eight US-based players will receive additional support from coaches while attending their respective colleges in the USA.

England Golf’s UK-based squad comprises: Eliot Baker, Ben Brown, Zach Chegwidden, James Claridge, Will Hopkins and Dylan Shaw-Radford.

England Golf men’s squad manager, Gareth Jenkins, said: “We have a number of new faces this year who have impressed across various championships and we’re looking forward to the year ahead where the players will receive England Golf training sessions with support from world-class coaches, and feature in competitive opportunities around the world in 2024.”
