FOOTBALL: FORMER Premier League star Darren Carter has been confirmed as the new Solihull Moors skipper.
The vastly-experienced midfielder was picked by Moors boss Liam McDonald to lead the Moors into the 2017/18 campaign.
Born in Solihull, Carter signed for his hometown club in June following an illustrious playing career with Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion, and Preston North End.
McDonald said: ‘Darren is well respected within the group and has been a leader since coming to the club.
“He’s excited about the season and was delighted to be given the responsibility of captaining the football club this season.”
Carter added: “I am delighted to take on the responsibility of club captain. It will be a real privilege to lead a great set of lads into the new season.
“Along with the gaffer’s positivity and the belief he has instilled into the team, I’m confident we will reach the targets we’ve set ourselves.”
