JACK Stevens scored a first-half brace as Solihull Moors reached the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy following a 3-1 victory at Chorley.

Stevens struck either side of Joe Sbarra’s goal at Victory Park to send Moors into the last eight as Mark Ellis netted a late consolation for the National League North side.

The quarter-final draw will take place at around 3.15pm on Monday, February 12 live on talkSPORT2.

Moors broke the deadlock after just two minutes when Stevens finished at the back post after debutant Tyrese Shade saw his delightful chip come back off the crossbar.

Solihull goalkeeper Nick Hayes then made a superb fingertip save to push Ellis’s header from a corner onto the post.

However, Moors doubled their lead on 27 minutes when Sbarra curled a first time effort into the bottom left corner from Shade’s cut back to score his first goal since March last year.

And Moors all but sealed their place in the quarter-finals one minute before half time as Stevens doubled his tally for the game with a powerful finish into the top-right corner from close range.

Chorley scored a consolation goal three minutes into injury time as Ellis headed a free-kick into the bottom right corner but it proved too little too late.

Solihull are next in action at home to Kidderminster Harriers on Tuesday, February 13 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the ARMCO Arena.
