SOLIHULL Sporting Ladies romped to a 9-0 win away at Redditch United Women to advance in the Birmingham FA County Cup.
Both Holly Ellison and Lauren Smith scored hat-trick’s whilst Dionne Williams struck twice and Naomi Melbourne was also on target to record Sporting’s biggest win of the season.
And Solihull made a blistering start as Smith opened the scoring after just 50 seconds before the visitors doubled their lead just past the quarter hour mark.
Sporting raced into a five-goal lead at the break whilst Melbourne scored the goal of the game in the second half when she finished off a stunning team move.
And the away side finished the game with a nine-goal winning margin which was just reward for a clinical display in front of goal and their tireless work off the ball.
Ellison’s treble was her first hat-trick for the club since her arrival in the summer whilst Smith now has nine goals in just seven games.
Solihull play in the West Midlands Regional Women’s Football League and sit fifth in the table with three wins and four defeats from seven matches.
Sporting are next in action at home to Shrewsbury Town Foundation Women on Sunday, November 27 with kick-off at 2pm at John Henry Newman College.
