SOLIHULL Moors Women suffered a 2-0 home defeat against Sporting Khalsa in their National League Division One Midlands season opener.
Khalsa had a goal ruled out for offside before taking the lead shortly after as Sporting skipper Rebecca Hall unleashed a stunning strike from outside the box which left Moors stopper Lucy Bicknell with no chance.
Moors first real chance fell to Marsha Malik who saw her powerful shot come back off the Khalsa goalkeeper.
However, Khalsa doubled their lead on 57 minutes as Alexandra Liddiard’s corner went all the way in despite Moors’ best efforts to clear the ball before it crossed the line.
Solihull are next in action away at Northampton Town on Thursday, September 7 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Fernie Fields Sports Club.
