ANDY Whing feels the big moments are not going Solihull Moors’ way after his side suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to Altrincham.

The game’s only goal came on 31 minutes when Justin Amaluzor turned the ball home at the ARMCO Arena to extend Moors winless run in the league to three matches.

And the result means Solihull sit sixth in the National League table although Whing believes results will come for Moors if they continue to improve week in week out.

Whing said: “The only disappointing thing is the result, everything else was outstanding, we went toe-to-toe with the most in-form team in the league.

“I’m really proud of the players, I’m really pleased with how we went about our work, the big moments aren’t going for us we’re just the wrong side of the those moments at the minute.

“If our performances keep getting better, the results will come, I’m gutted for the players, we should have got something out of the game.

“We’ve been really poor in the final third all season, it was a massive step in the right direction, we just lacked the final bit of quality and luck when we needed it most.”

In a game of few chances, Amaluzor grabbed the winner for Altrincham with a first time finish from 10-yards out after Moors switched off at a throw-in.

Solihull are next in action away at Halifax Town on Tuesday, February 6 with kick-off at 7.45pm at The Shay.
