ANDY Whing felt Matty Kosylo should not have been on the pitch to score Altrincham’s late equaliser after Solihull Moors suffered a late collapse in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Moors conceded twice in the final eight minutes after Alex Whitmore, Sam Bowen and Jack Stevens all struck to put the home side in command at Damson Park.

Kosylo grabbed a last-minute equaliser for Altrincham although Whing felt the substitute should have seen red for an earlier challenge on Joe Newton when already on a yellow card.

Whing said: “It’s really frustrating, their match-winner should have been sent off, he shouldn’t have been on the pitch.

“For 70 minutes we were fantastic, it was one of the best performances of the season, we were on the front foot, we were aggressive, it should have been more comfortable than it was.

“Then for 20 minutes we just let ourselves down and got the basics wrong. It’s really poor from us when we should have been out of sight.

“It kind of sums our season up, we’ve just killed ourselves with the goals, the goals are horrendous to concede, it shouldn’t be happening, that only happens to us.

“We just can’t seem to get on a run this season, we haven’t found that consistency to win games of football. If we want to go to where we want to get to we’ve got to win games of football, it’s criminal we haven’t won [this one].”

Moors broke the deadlock on 27 minutes when Whitmore lashed home at the second attempt after Conor Wilkinson’s initial header came back off the crossbar.

And Whing’s men doubled their lead five minutes before half time after Ethan Ross could only parry Bradley Stevenson’s initial effort into the path of Bowen who applied the finish from eight-yards out.

Altrincham reduced the deficit on 72 minutes when Regan Linney found the net at the back post after Kosylo drove the ball across the face of goal from the right.

However, Moors restored their two-goal lead seven minutes later when Stevens and Stevenson exchanged passes and the former showed great composure to find the net.

The visitors responded on 82 minutes as Linney grabbed his second of the game with a superb lofted header from the edge of the penalty area.

And there was still time for one final twist as Kosylo latched onto Joe Nuttall’s through ball and drilled a low effort into the bottom left corner.

Solihull are next in action against Ebbsfleet United on Saturday, November 16 with kick-off at 3pm at Kuflink Stadium.
