ANDY Whing admits his Solihull Moors side produced a ‘tired’ performance after conceding in injury time to lose 1-0 away at Gateshead.
A 92nd minute goal from Owen Oseni denied Moors a point at the Gateshead International Stadium.
The result leaves Moors eighth in the National League table and Solihull boss Whing hopes his side learn from defeat.
Whing said: “It was a really tired performance, I don’t think we were quite at our best off the ball, we didn’t have the same zip about us.
“We couldn’t keep the ball when it turned over, saying that, we should have gone two-nil up, we’ve had two absolute sitters in the first half.
“In the second half we just couldn’t get out, we got deeper and deeper, we’ve had a tough couple of weeks and it took its toll.
“The disappointing thing is a set-piece at the end where we’ve switched off, I’m gutted for them but we can’t lose sight of the fact we’ve been brilliant the last few weeks.
“We’re building, we’re getting our players back, we’ve got a lot to be positive about, we’re heading in the right direction.
“These are the days where it’s going to hurt but we have to learn from these days.
“It’s a big game [in the FA Cup] for the football club so we’re going to give it absolutely everything.”
Moors spurned a glorious chance to break the deadlock early on as Conor Wilkinson saw his shot saved by Gateshead goalkeeper Tiernan Brooks when one-on-one.
And the visitors went close again later in the half as Brooks reacted sharply to tip Alex Whitmore’s header behind for a corner.
Moors keeper Laurie Walker made a number of crucial saves after the interval while home substitute Tyrelle Newton somehow blazed a shot over the bar from six-yards out with Walker on the ground.
However, Gateshead eventually stole the points in the second minute of injury time when Oseni headed in Sam Bowen’s cross from the right following a short corner.
