SOLIHULL Moors have signed Sam Bowen on a free transfer following his release from League Two side Newport County.
Bowen becomes the club’s first signing of the summer and has signed a two-year deal at the ARMCO Arena.
The midfielder spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Solihull’s National League rivals Wealdstone where he scored seven goals in 41 appearances.
Bowen said: “I’m really excited, it’s been on the horizon now for a couple of weeks. I’m buzzing to get going and I can’t wait for pre-season to start now.
“I like to get on the ball, be creative and try and score a few goals. Defensively, I like to think I’m pretty good at reading the game.”
Moors director of football, Stephen Ward, added: “We are delighted to secure the services of Sam for the next two years.
“He is a player who impressed us immensely this season and is someone we feel will fit well with our style of play. He brings real variety to our midfield and can play in a number of roles.
“He also has experience playing at this level and we feel he can develop his talent even further at our club.”
Bowen began his career at Cardiff City and made five senior appearances for the club.
The 23-year-old has represented Wales up to under-21 level.
