KIAN Ryley scored the only goal as Solihull Moors claimed a hard-fought 1-0 win against Bromsgrove Sporting in their latest pre-season outing.

Ryley struck just past the hour mark at the Victoria Ground as Moors claimed a second pre-season victory.

Sporting made a promising start as captain Luke Rowe saw his free-kick saved before Moors goalkeeper Laurie Walker claimed Aksum White’s cross-shot.

At the other end, Bromsgrove goalkeeper Charlie Price made a smart stop to deny James Gale before the same player fired narrowly wide moments later.

The Rouslers went close to an opener at the start of the second half only Moors to clear Aaron Bishop’s shot off the line with Walker beaten.

However, Moors almost took the lead themselves when Olly Tipton shot inches wide from distance.

And Solihull eventually broke the deadlock on 61 minutes as Ryley finished Finn Howell’s cross via the aid of the post.

Sporting stopper Price then made a fine save with his feet to deny a Moors trialist before Walker kept out Isaac Adegoke’s effort from distance at the other end.

Moors forward Tahvon Campbell had a goal ruled out for offside late on while Rouslers striker Harry Crook saw a late penalty appeal waved away by the referee.

Solihull continue their pre-season campaign against Studley on Tuesday, July 30 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Studley Sports Centre.
