STEPHEN Ward insists Solihull Moors are capable of competing with anyone in the play-offs following a run of three straight victories.

Moors sit sixth in the National League table and have won four of their last five matches as Solihull await their first match of 2025.

And director of football Ward believes Moors can achieve another top-seven finish under Andy Whing this season after suffering play-off final heartbreak at Wembley last term.

Ward said: “Ultimately, our main focus is to climb the league table and ensure we reach the play-offs again.

“Anything can happen if we’re in the play-offs.

“If we can maintain this momentum, we believe we’re capable of competing with anyone in the play-offs.

“We’re in a stronger position now than at the start of the season.

“We’ll be looking to keep progressing in 2025 and our summer and mid-season recruitment have been promising.

“It’s about building a strong culture, and I think we’re seeing the rewards now.

“We’ve had our struggles but the team’s reaction in recent weeks has been fantastic.”

Solihull ended the year with a 2-0 home win against Tamworth at Damson Park as Conor Wilkinson struck either side of half time.

That came after Moors won 1-0 at 10-man Boston United following an emphatic 4-1 home success against AFC Fylde as Wilkinson and Jack Stevens both scored twice.

And Ward is excited for the future of the club both on and off the pitch.

Ward added: “From the Foundation to the senior teams, this club is built on the dedication of its people.

“We’re proud of what we’ve achieved and are excited for what’s to come in 2025.

“A huge credit must go to our chairman Darryl Eales who continues to support every aspect of the club to ensure we can keep improving on and off the pitch and support our local community.”

Solihull are next in action against Aldershot Town on Saturday, January 11 with kick-off at 3pm at the EBB Stadium.
