JAMEY Osborne’s early goal proved decisive as Solihull Moors secured a narrow 1-0 win away at 10-man Boston United on Boxing Day.
Osborne scored the winner after just 17 minutes at the Jakemans Community Stadium before Boston’s Jordan Richards received a second yellow card in first-half injury time.
That came after Moors thrashed AFC Fylde 4-1 in their last game before Christmas as both Conor Wilkinson and Jack Stevens netted braces at Damson Park.
And the results mean Solihull sit seventh in the National League table, two points clear of the chasing pack in the race for a play-off place.
The game’s only goal arrived just past the quarter-hour mark as Osborne curled a sensational effort into the top right corner from 20-yards out.
And Boston then lost Richards to a red card moments before the break after he lunged in on Osborne and picked up a second booking.
Solihull are next in action against Tamworth on Tuesday, December 31 with kick-off at 3pm at Damson Park.
