ANDY Whing insists Solihull Moors are desperate to win promotion after his side romped to a sensational 4-0 win at Barnet to reach the National League Promotion Final.

Moors are now just one win away from realising their Football League dream, after goals from James Clarke, Jack Stevens, Tahvon Campbell and Joe Sbarra left Barnet stunned at The Hive.

Solihull will play Bromley in the Promotion Final at Wembley on Sunday, May 5 as Moors bid to reach the Football League for the first time in their history.

Whing said: “We’re desperate to get promoted, I’m desperate to do it for the chairman, the supporters and everybody at the football club.

“What a performance and a what a time to produce our best performance of the season.

“Our game plan and game management and the lads sticking to it was second to none, we stopped them playing and they ran out of ideas, to a man we were outstanding, we scored four fantastic goals.

“We never expected this but we always had belief, we knew we could come here and win, it’s a fantastic day for the football club.

“I’m absolutely delighted, we’ve won nothing yet, we’re going to Wembley twice in six days, we’re proud and delighted for the supporters.”

Moors broke the deadlock after just six minutes when Clarke rose highest to superbly guide Jamey Osborne’s free-kick into the left corner of the goal.

And the visitors doubled their lead on 27 minutes as Osborne slipped in Stevens who placed a first time effort into the bottom right corner.

Moors all but sealed their place in the Promotion Final on 61 minutes when Campbell found the net from Joe Newton’s pass after Josh Keeley kept out Sbarra’s initial effort.

And Whing’s men added some gloss to the scoreline with one minute left to play as Sbarra coolly picked out the right corner of the goal from Callum Maycock’s pass.

Solihull play Bromley in the Promotion Final at Wembley on Sunday, May 5 with kick-off at 3pm at Wembley Stadium.

Moors will also head to Wembley for the FA Trophy final against Gateshead on Saturday, May 11.
