CLIVE Seeley insists Knowle have the quality to establish themselves as a Step Six side following the club’s belated promotion.

Knowle received news of their promotion from the Midland Football League Division Two despite missing out on the title to Northfield Town.

However, champions Northfield failed to secure planning permission to install floodlights at their Shenley Lane ground.

This meant the FA confirmed Knowle’s place at Step Six next season with the club to play in the Midland Football League Division One.

And after just missing out on the league title and promotion in each of the last three seasons through their league position, Seeley believes Knowle have the quality to compete at Step Six next campaign.

Seeley said: “It is a fantastic feeling to gain promotion after several seasons trying. The lads have played some wonderful football along the way and we are confident of consolidating our position in the division above.

“Like any football club, Knowle’s first teams are the pinnacle of the football played at the Draintech Community Ground. This season saw the Ladies negotiate the qualifiers to reach the first round proper of the Women’s FA Cup, a highlight of their season.

“The men, having gained their promotion after another tough season, now have a new challenge to which they can look forward, having entered the FA’s National League system.

“This means 50 per cent more games next season at Hampton Road.

“But perhaps most importantly for a local club, it means over 400 junior players, in nearly 30 teams now have even higher levels of football at Knowle to which they can aspire to.

“It leaves me to thank our wonderful sponsors who continue to support the club, without whom much of the on-pitch attainment would not be possible. The door is always open to others who may wish to join them.

“But most of all, our gratitude to the supporters and the community. We hope to see you soon, at the Draintech ground, cheering on the Robins.”

Marketing communications manager at club sponsor Draintech, Dan Lowe added: “As proud sponsors of Knowle Football Club, we would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the entire team, coaching staff, and supporters on their well-deserved promotion to MFL 1.

“This season’s success is a testament to the dedication, resilience, and talent that defines Knowle FC.

“To see the club achieve this milestone is not just a sporting triumph, it’s a celebration of years of hard work, grassroots passion, and unwavering support from the local community.”
