DEMI Rolph scored a hat-trick as Knowle Ladies romped to a 6-2 victory away at Bewdley Town as the Robins returned to winning ways in style
Rolph’s quickfire double set Knowle on their way before she completed her treble in the second half as Jess Barlow, Kate Fleming and Camile Abbotts all struck whilst Natalie Gibson provided four assists.
The result means Knowle sit second in the West Midlands Regional Women’s Football League Division One South table.
Knowle raced into a four-goal lead as Rolph scored two early goals the second of which started from a goal kick before the Robins played through the thirds and Gibson set the scorer away to finish.
And Barlow increased Knowle’s lead when she was quickest to react to a loose ball after the Bewdley goalkeeper could only parry Gibson’s snapshot.
Gibson hit the crossbar from distance soon after before Fleming made it four-nil as she slid the ball past the onrushing goalkeeper from Gibson’s chipped pass.
Bewdley improved in the second period but fell further behind when substitute Abbotts volleyed home Alana White’s deep cross at the back post.
And Knowle scored their sixth of the afternoon when Rolph chipped the goalkeeper and tapped home after she beat a defender in a foot race to the ball.
The home side pressure the Robins in the final 20 minutes and had a penalty saved by Katy Smirthwaite before Sarah Lojko and Kirsty Roberts produced classy finishes late on to deny Knowle a clean sheet.
Knowle are next in action away at Long Itchington on Sunday, March 19 with kick-off at 2pm at Long Itchington Playing Field.
