KNOWLE continued their fine form with a 2-0 home win against Redditch Borough as the Robins eased past their lowly opponents to secure a ninth straight victory in all competitions.

Charlie Morris opened the scoring before Reece Staley doubled Knowle’s lead in the space of eight first-half minutes at the Draintech Community Ground.

The result means Knowle sit third in the Midland Football League Division Two table still 10 points behind leaders Sutton United with three games in hand.

Despite Redditch’s bright start, Knowle regained control and took the lead when Morris turned home a cross from the right having taken a quick free-kick to start the move.

And just eight minutes later Knowle doubled their lead when Staley beat Redditch goalkeeper Anthony Swain from close range after Borough had initially cleared the ball off the line from a corner.

Redditch struggled to test Knowle all game as Craig Johnson made a single save with the Robins unable to add to their lead in the second half.

Knowle are next in action at home to Kenilworth Sporting on Saturday, March 4 in the Les James Challenge Cup with kick-off at 3pm at the Draintech Community Ground.
