FOOTBALL - Robins in for tough Fairfield test

Solihull Editorial 7th Apr, 2023   0

THE matches are coming thick and fast for Knowle who travel to Fairfield Villa this weekend as they look to remain in control of the title race.

Knowle booked their place in the Les James Challenge Cup final in midweek to stretch their winning run to 14 matches with three of those victories coming via penalties.

However, the Robins must now turn their attention back to their Midland Football League Division Two title challenge as they sit third in the table eight points behind leaders Sutton United with four games in hand.

Fairfield are down in seventh place and have not won a league game since February having lost seven of their last eight matches in all competitions.

Knowle’s joint manager Matthew Seeley said: “Complacency is the enemy now. We have to be on our guard against complacency. Confidence is one thing, but being complacent is the danger.”

The Robins are expected to be at full strength this weekend with the clubhouse at Fairfield Villa open throughout the afternoon for hot and cold drinks and snacks.

Knowle’s clash with Villa takes place on Saturday, April 8 with kick-off at 3pm at The Recreation Ground.
