FOOTBALL - Robins host Kenilworth Sporting this weekend

Solihull Editorial 20th Jan, 2023   0

KNOWLE face another tough test against Kenilworth Sporting this weekend as the Robins look to maintain their perfect start to the New Year.

The Solihull club have won three games from three since the turn year and are yet to concede a goal in 2023 having triumphed 2-0 at DSC United in the Birmingham FA Saturday Vase in midweek.

And the Robins cannot afford to slip up as they try and chase down leaders Sutton United who sit 10 points clear at the top of the Midland Football League Division Two table, although Knowle have two games in hand.

This weekend’s opponents Kenilworth are down in seventh and have drawn each of their last three league matches 1-1.

The two teams played out a 2-2 draw earlier in the season as Kenilworth snatched a point following a contentious penalty decision in the second half.

Knowle’s joint manager Clive Seeley said: “Every match in this Division is a tough one. None more so than this visit of Kenilworth Sporting to the Draintech Community Stadium.

“We shall need to be at our very best to secure the three points. It will not be easy. They are a decent side and will fancy their chances.”

Entrance is £4 for adults and £2 for concessions.

The clubhouse at Hampton Road will be open all afternoon for hot and cold drinks together with light snacks.

Knowle play Kenilworth on Saturday, January 21 with kick-off at 2pm at the Draintech Community Ground.
