KNOWLE are set to host a league match at their Draintech Community Ground home for the first time since November last year when they entertain Lane Head this weekend.

With repair work on the damaged dressing rooms at the ground now complete, Knowle will hope to keep the pressure on leaders Sutton United who are in danger of running away with the title.

The Robins were beaten 3-1 by Sutton in their last home outing but started the New Year in style with a 3-0 win away at local rivals Earlswood Town.

Knowle sit third in the Midland Football League Division Two table and would be six points behind Sutton should they win their games in hand.

This weekend’s opponents, Lane Head, are down in 12th place with just four wins from 16 matches and are three points above the relegation zone.

Lane Head have won one of their last seven league matches and have failed to win any of their last three whilst they are also one of the division’s lowest scorers having netted 16 goals in as many matches.

Both Joe Sinton and Lewis Rainey are set to return to Knowle’s squad for the fixture.

The clubhouse will be open all afternoon for drinks and light snacks with entrance £4 for adults and £2 for concessions.

Knowle’s clash with Lane Head takes place on Saturday, January 7 with kick-off at 2pm at the Draintech Community Ground.
