FOOTBALL - Robins aiming to end season with cup double

KNOWLE FC hope to end the season celebrating a double ahead of this weekend’s Saturday Vase final against Sutton United.

The Robins won the Les James Challenge Cup at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium with a 3-1 win against Hampton in their last outing.

And Knowle have a chance to win their second trophy in as many games against Sutton who pipped the Robins to the Midland Football League Division Two title by just two points.

Knowle won 2-1 away at Sutton in early February to exact revenge on their opponents who triumphed 3-1 at the Robins Draintech Community Ground back in November.

Both teams have already lifted silverware this season whilst Knowle had the division’s meanest defence conceding 23 goals and Sutton boasted the most prolific attack as they scored 107 goals.

Knowle play Sutton in the Saturday Vase final on Saturday, May 20 with kick-off at 2pm at Ray Hall Lane.
