FOOTBALL - Reid rescues point for Moors in stunning late show

ALEX Reid scored a dramatic 98th minute equaliser as 10-man Solihull Moors scored twice in injury time to draw 2-2 with Bromley.

Reid’s last gasp leveller rescued a point for Moors after Josh Kelly had struck four minutes into time added on to halve the deficit with captain Kyle Storer dismissed with Solihull two goals down at the ARMCO Arena.

The result means Solihull sit sixth in the National League table with Moors winless in their last three league matches.

Bromley looked threatening from set-pieces and almost took the lead when Omar Sowunmi was left free at the back post only to head into the side netting.

And moments later, Bromley’s Callum Reynolds headed against the post before Louie Moulden made a crucial save to keep out Michael Cheek’s effort.

However, Bromley eventually took the lead on 35 minutes when George Alexander produced a stunning overhead kick that found the top corner of an empty net after Reynolds had lofted the ball over Moulden.

And after Ben Coker’s outstretched leg prevented Cheek from doubling Bromley’s lead, Jude Arthurs nodded home from a yard out on 68 minutes from Reynolds’ initial header at a corner.

The game looked out of Solihull’s reach when captain Storer was sent off for two bookings on 77 minutes after he was penalised for a late challenge.

However, Kelly restored hope on 94 minutes when he curled a brilliant effort into the top left corner from 25-yards out.

And substitute Reid completed an extraordinary comeback on 98 minutes as the striker nodded home from Joe Sbarra’s corner after Bromley keeper Tom Smith failed to gather the initial cross.

Solihull are next in action at home to Wealdstone TONIGHT (Tuesday, October 4) with kick-off at 7.45pm at the ARMCO Arena.
