FOOTBALL - Red-hot Dallas scoops National League Player of the Month award for January

SOLIHULL MOORS striker Andrew Dallas has been recognised for his red-hot form by scooping the National League’s Player of the Month award for January.

Dallas scored 10 goals across five matches in the National League and FA Trophy last month, including back-to-back trebles, to help fire Moors into the play-off places.

His goal spree began with a perfect hat-trick in a 3-0 win against Southport in the FA Trophy to help Solihull progress to the fifth round where they will play Stourbridge this weekend.

And that set the Scot up to score all five goals in Moors next fixture, a 5-0 against lowly Dover Athletic, netting four before the interval in a stunning individual performance.

The 22-year-old then sealed the points in a 2-0 win at Torquay United before scoring the opener in a 5-0 win at home to Altrincham.

His tally would have been even greater only for his other strike in the Altrincham clash to eventually be credited as an own goal.

The only game he failed to score in during January was a 2-1 defeat at Bromley in the club’s first game of the new year.

Dallas now has 13 goals to his name and is Moors top scorer in all competitions.
