JACK Mullen’s first-half brace helped Knowle to a 2-0 win against Birmingham United as the Robins secured a 12th successive win in all competitions.
Mullen struck twice in the opening half-hour as Robins goalkeeper Craig Johnson marked his 100th Knowle appearance with a clean sheet at the Draintech Community Ground.
The result means Knowle sit third in the Midland Football League Division Two table, 11 points behind leaders Sutton United with five games in hand.
Birmingham failed to have a single shot, on or off target, despite a below par display from Knowle who were without regulars George Seeley, Nathan Corry and Hayden Seymour.
Knowle were never in top gear but took the lead on five minutes when Mullen tapped home before the same player struck again on the half-hour mark to double the home side’s lead.
Robins boss Clive Seeley said: “I’m disappointed in our performance, yet pleased with the result.”
Knowle are next in action at home to Inkberrow on Saturday, April 1 with kick-off at 3pm at the Draintech Community Ground.
